EWA Celebrates Bahraini Women’s Day
His Excellency Eng. Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, President of the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA), praised the outstanding efforts of Bahraini women across all fields, as well as the pivotal role played by the Supreme Council for Women in empowering and promoting Bahraini women's leadership. He emphasized that these efforts contribute significantly to achieving the national goals and aspirations under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and with the support and guidance of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
This came during a ceremony held by EWA in celebration of Bahraini Women’s Day, which is observed annually on December 1st. The event was attended by Her Excellency Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, Member of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Olympic Committee and President of the Bahrain Table Tennis Association, who was honored as the event’s guest of honor.
H.E. Eng. Kamal affirmed that Bahraini Women’s Day is an opportunity to recognize the productive and impactful contributions of women who work diligently to implement national strategies and initiatives rooted in the principle of equal opportunities. He commended the Supreme Council for Women, chaired by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Council, for its leading role in strengthening women's presence and highlighting their success stories on international platforms.
He also noted the outstanding role of women within the Electricity and Water Authority, affirming EWA’s continuous commitment to promoting equal opportunities and enabling women to assume various leadership roles. He reaffirmed EWA’s ongoing collaboration and partnership with the Supreme Council for Women to support the advancement of Bahraini women, integrate their needs into all areas of work, and safeguard their rights.
