EWA, in partnership with the private sector, is preparing to develop a new Independent Power & Water Project (IPWP) in Sitra. This initiative aims to enhance the Kingdom's power and water infrastructure to accommodate the increasing demand, in line with the Master Plan 2030.

Combined Cycle dual fuel power facility with 1,200 MW capacity, and a seawater reverse osmosis desalination facility producing 30 MIGD of potable water.
Operational Timeline
Early Commercial Operation Date (ECOD) by Q2 2028 with 600 MW, reaching full capacity of 1,200 MW by Q2 2029 (COD). Water production of 30 MIGD is also expected by Q2 2028 (COD).
